I believe team building starts with a little courage and creativity. We look to achieve excellence in communication by completing the past and begin each day with new possibilities. Use the past as a school, not an excuse.

Teamwork
A highly functional team must be able to communicate. Team building activities designed to enhance communication and listening skills can be held almost anywhere. I hosted a team building trip with the intent to practice active listening and communicate while being present without distractions that often occurs in the workplace. During the team building event, the goal was to connect to another person’s point of view. This required each team member come into the conversation with an open mind and without bringing in past biases. The key was to build rapport with team members. When rapport was built, there was a greater chance for objectives to be met. Individuals in the team were able to understand and deliver customer value and business goals more effectively.
After the team building experience, I was motivated to become a better leader and enrolled in courses hosted by Hyperdrive Agile Leadership. I was able to bring that knowledge into the company culture and execute successful sprints by empowering product teams and promote development for business outcome rather than just delivering features.
